Meet Steph

About Steph

I started The Careers Lab because I've seen how many talented, capable people feel stuck, uncertain or misaligned in their careers - not because they lack ability, but because they lack clarity, direction, or space to think differently.

My background

I've spent my career working at the intersection of talent, recruitment and organisational growth.

Most recently, I head up Talent, focusing on four core areas - retention, acquisition, development and performance - helping organisations grow in a wqy that is both sustainable and aligned to their goals.

Before this, I worked across scaling businesses, including technology consultancies and high-growth organisations going through significant change, from rapid expansion to post-acquisition transformation. Across these roles, I've built and led recruitment and talent strategies, designed fair and effective hiring and performance frameworks, and worked closely with leadership teams to shape how organisations attract, develop and retain people.

This experience has given me a unique perspective - not just on how organisations grow, but how individuals experience that growth.

What I believe

Careers today require a different approach.

It's no longer about following a fixed path or staying within one lane. The people who navigate their careers most successfully aren't always the most qualified - they're the ones who understand how to adapt, reflect and reposition themselves over time.

That's where my work is focused.

Helping people step back, think clearly, and move forward with confidence.

Who I work with

I typically work with:

  • Professionals navigating change or transition

  • Individuals stepping into or growing within leadership roles

  • People who feel "stuck" despite being capable and experienved

  • Those looking for clarity, direction and confidence in their next move

A more personal note

Throughout my career, I've worked closely with people at all stages - from those starting out, to those operating at senior leadership level.

What's consistent across all of them is this:

At some point, everyone questions what they're doing, where they're going, and what comes next.

That's a normal part of any career.

The difference is having the space and support to navigate it well.

Start a conversation

If you're at a point in your career where things feel uncertain, unclear or in transition - you don't have to figure it out on your own.
